Batteries are awesome tools that let us take our electricity with us, so as to power Electronics and even electrical appliances without the need for a power grid or alternative electrical supply.

However, Batteries aren’t always easy to work with, and you sometimes need tools to be able to measure the remaining capacity, the voltage output, as well as the voltage input – in order to properly maintain good battery health for longevity.

This is why we love to get tools like this 12V Lead Acid Battery Capacity & Voltage Meter, which is both a capacity measurement tool as well as a voltmeter, built into one elegant little package.

It is primarily designed for lead acid batteries, such as for Solar Power solutions, vehicles and other high-power applications, but can also be used for other battery cell packs that equal a total voltage of around 12V DC.

This lets you identify precise charging and discharge rates for your batteries, while letting you find the precise capacity so you know how much energy you still have spare to power your electronics, appliances or other power-hungry projects.

The onboard battery indicators are quite simple, but offer a good level of information that can let you identify battery conditions at a glance.

For capacity, the display offers 8 bars that depict the charge level remaining.

This ranges from a single bar depicting that the battery voltage is above 11.1V, up to the full 8 bars, which depicts that the battery voltage is above 13.3V – enabling very quick identification of precise voltage levels remaining. For the voltmeter, the display integrates a simple 3×7-Segment style section along the bottom, which is complemented with a V to denote voltage. This of course adds to the value of this module in regard to quick Voltage Sensing and identification, while also allowing you to use this module without a battery, and just as a simple voltmeter for when you need to evaluate a power source or quickly check remaining voltages on battery cell packs.

Please Note:

This battery capacity indicator and voltmeter is designed for 12V lead acid batteries, but can be used for a wide range of other batteries that have been packaged together to equal around 12V total.

However, the battery capacity will only display for lead acid batteries, and other battery options will simply utilise the voltmeter, without displaying capacity.
